That is a great question! In general, damaging or breaking a few roots should not be a major issue for a healthy orchid with good growing conditions. If you are repotting an orchid because it is sickly, then I would suggest taking extra special care not to do any harm. As with any plant that has been repotted, do not fertilize them for 3-4 weeks after repotting. - Peter

We do not recommend applying the cork to wallpaper and then wallpaper paste to the wall. We do recommend installing using water-based contact cement to adhere the cork directly to the wall. If you want something less permanent, you can use contact cement to adhere cork to plywood and then screw the plywood to the wall.

@@JelinekCork thanks. Any tips on how to remove the roll memory? I’ve had mine cut to size and stored flat for weeks ( weighted ), but as soon as you release it it just rolls itself up again.

@@alanjacobs7302 The rolled cork won't flatten all the way until it is adhered securely with the contact cement. Be sure to follow the manufacturers instructions for the contact cement.

The primer can be helpful when applying cork to new drywall, it helps ensure the drywall is free of dust and keeps the contact cement from being absorbed. You can, however, also use two coats of water-based contact cement instead - the first to act as the primer and the second coat as the bond coat. If you want to use actual primer, you can use a standard latex paint primer.

When installing cork on a wall, the wall needs to be free of any loose paint so it would be best if its sanded so any loose paint is removed to ensure optimal adhesion. Cork is a natural insulator against sound so it will help lessen sound transmission. This is one of the many beneficial properties of cork. The thicker the cork, the more it will help (for example, the 1/2" thick wall tiles would be more insulative than the 1/8" thick tiles). There are, however, other variables such as the makeup of the wall that also influence sound transmission. So though it would not stop noise, it would help dampen it. No, spacers are not needed however the tiles need to acclimate prior to installation and then when installing the tiles need to fit snug but not too tightly together, this will leave room for expansion and contraction. Using corkboard material as you mention (such as QuietCork or cork insulation sheets - www.corkstore.com/Products/Cork-Rolls-Sheets ) works for this though could involve lots of cutting and shaping to get it to cover the curves and shapes of the vehicle. Another option is Cork Spray - www.corkstore.com/Products/Cork-Spray . This works well as it hugs the curves/shapes of the vehicle and has a thinner profile with similar insulation values as the cork sheets. Hi. The cork adhered to removable wallpaper may be too heavy so the wallpaper may not stay attached to the wall. We typically recommend adhering the cork to plywood and then attaching the plywood to the wall (with screws) if you'd like a removable option.

Cork wall tiles are not recommended where the humidity changes excessively or in high moisture areas. The reason is that frequent expansion/contraction can cause the tiles to separate to the point where the seams between the tiles are very visible. So choosing cork wall tiles for your bathroom will depend on the humidity change that occurs in the room. In terms of the finish, most of the wall tiles have a light wax coating which seals and protects the cork. If you are installing a cork glue down floor, it is best to remove the ceramic floor and ensure the subfloor is properly prepared prior to installing the cork flooring.
